Passion for Classic Cars
Passionate about old cars and nostalgic for the motoring era of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s? The Director’s own small collection of cars will inform the first Passion for British Classic cars course – Morris, Rover and Rolls Royce. Participants will learn about the history of these iconic British marques, discuss road tests of the cars and materials from the era and enjoy looking back to these heady days. Participants will get to see privately owned car collections, fascinating “secret Suffolk” motor museums, visit a real garage working on old cars, and enjoy drives in the stunning Suffolk countryside in the “fleet” of classic cars. There will be a full day excursion to the brand new British Motor Museum in Gaydon.
Course would suit mature adults.
Passion for Horses
Passionate about horses, horse racing and the wonderful animal itself? This course is for lovers of the horse keen to improve their English. The focus of the daily English lessons will be on vocabulary and fluency exercises connected to the subject of the horse. You will visit the brand new world-class National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art in Newmarket – the historic home of the ‘sport of kings’. Watch live displays of successfully retrained racehorses in the arena and ride a winner on the racehorse simulator in the Kings Yard. You will also tour the training grounds run by Jockey Club Estates where the world’s finest rac
ehorses are trained and visit the National Stud to be introduced to its breeding programmes. Enjoy a day at the races? An afternoon of horse riding? These will be options. BLS Passion for Horses course – for a mature adult market.
Passion for Football
Passionate about the beautiful game? Are you a football fan? You do not need to have played to enjoy this wonderful sport. What better place to share your passion than in England, the home of football. You will learn all about what makes the English so crazy about football. The journey will begin with our amateur local team in Bury St Edmunds, then you will move through the divisions to see what the lower leagues have to offer football fans. You will watch from the terraces, learn the chants, and understand what it means to be a football fan in England. Our local professional teams are Cambridge United, Ipswich Town and Norwich City. Tour the grounds and learn about how important football is to East Anglia. On the final Saturday why not stay an extra night and go to the FA Cup Final?
